Abstract
This study highlights the dialectical relationship between Libyan youth and television drama, examining its impact on their social reality and socialization process. The research explores the artistic and social characteristics of drama, its origins, and writing principles, focusing on how dramatic content—whether local or imported—reflects on the behaviors, values, and psychosocial needs of youth. Additionally, the paper addresses the role of various socialization institutions and utilizes the Uses and Gratifications Theory to explain the motives behind youth media consumption and its consequences on academic achievement and cultural identity.
