Abstract
This study covers the basic concepts of agricultural economics as an applied social science connecting economic theories with agricultural activities. It highlights the importance of the agricultural sector in achieving food security and supplying raw materials, alongside its relationship with general economics. The article explores the origin of agricultural economics, its main branches (land economics, production, marketing, finance, and policy), characteristics of agriculture, and various farming systems. Furthermore, it details the environmental and human factors affecting production, as well as practical plant production stages from crop selection to harvesting.
