Social identity in the new Algerian cinema: The film (El Faham) directed by Mohamed Bouamari as a model.

This study aims to trace the emergence and evolution of Algerian cinema, transitioning from the cinema of liberation and armed struggle to the "New Cinema" (Third Cinema), which accompanied social and economic transformations post-independence and the Agricultural Revolution. Taking Mohamed Bouamari's feature film "El-Faham" (The Charcoal Burner, 1972) as an analytical case study, the paper explores how Algerian cinema addressed post-colonial social reality, rural issues, bureaucracy, and economic shifts, while offering a progressive critique of women's emancipation as key partners in social change.
