Countering Terrorism in International Law

This study examines the issue of international terrorism and its grave impacts on the international community amidst evolving forms and motives. It aims to define international terrorism in international law, analyze its political, economic, social, and media drivers, and review international and regional counter-terrorism efforts via the UN Security Council and regional organizations. Utilizing descriptive-analytical and historical methodologies, the research reveals that a comprehensive international definition of terrorism remains lacking due to confusion between terrorism and legitimate self-determination rights, emphasizing the need for genuine international cooperation to preserve peace and security.
