Abstract
This study addresses the art of intertextuality in the poetry of Mahmoud Al-Awami through his divan "A Stained Keffiyeh", employing a descriptive-analytical approach to uncover the aesthetics of the poetic text and bridge inherited and contemporary texts. The study concluded with several findings, most notably the predominance of religious intertextuality due to the poet's background, and the diversity of intertextual sources and expressive methods which linked contemporary events to ancient heritage.
