Social Responsibility and Its Relationship to the Feeling of Job Alienation Among University Faculty Members: A Field Study in the Sociology Departments at the Faculties of Education and Arts, University of Zawia

This field study aimed to examine the relationship between social responsibility and job alienation among faculty members in the Sociology departments at the Faculties of Education and Arts, University of Zawia (2019). Utilizing a comprehensive census method for the total population of 34 faculty members, data were collected via a structured questionnaire. Findings revealed high levels of job alienation, with social isolation ranking as the most prominent dimension. Statistically significant differences in job alienation levels were found favoring female faculty members and those in the Faculty of Arts. Furthermore, the study concluded a statistically significant inverse correlation between social responsibility and job alienation, indicating that higher practice of social responsibility reduces feelings of job alienation.
