Abstract
This study addresses cyber defamation and insults from Islamic Sharia and legal perspectives, specifically evaluating the effectiveness of Libyan legislation—including Law No. 5 of 2022 on Combating Cybercrime—in countering these practices to protect individuals and foster ethical behavior within digital environments. Utilizing a comparative approach, the paper analyzes religious texts alongside statutory provisions, concluding with recommendations to strengthen legal penalties and update legislative frameworks in response to emerging technological challenges.
